Robert Bilder, PhD – Scientific Advisor

Dr. Bilder is a founder, shareholder and developer of the Cogtest computerized battery of tests. A key opinion leader in neuropsychology and cognition, Dr. Bilder is involved in the selection of tests; as well as any key developments in the Cogtest System. He will be involved in developing the cognitive strategy with our scientific team and the sponsor for a clinical trial program.

Before joining UCLA, Dr. Bilder held a series of faculty appointments at Columbia University and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He served as Chief of Neuropsychology at Zucker Hillside Hospital from 1988 to 2002, and was Associate Director for Human Research at the Center for Advanced Brain Imaging at the Nathan Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research from 1996 to 2002. Dr. Bilder has been awarded diplomate status by the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology.

For more than 20 years Dr. Bilder has been actively engaged in research on the neuroanatomic and neuropsychological bases of major mental illnesses. He has received many awards for his research contributions, served on diverse federal and international advisory boards, edited many scholarly journals, and received multiple grants from the NIH, private foundations, and industry. His work has been presented in over 100 publications and 300 scientific presentations.

Roger Bullock, MD – SAB and Expert Trainer

Dr. Bullock has worked with TCG, co-presenting in conferences and seminars and developing rater training modules on the ADAS-cog. He is co-author in Cogtest presentations in the AD/ MCI area. He is PI and Director at the Kingshill Research Centre, Swindon, UK, and has over 12 years clinical trials experience.

Dr. Bullock has a BA in Physiological Sciences from Keble College, Oxford University, gaining a BA in 1978. His medical training is from St Bartholomew's Hospital in London where he gained the MB.BS in 1981. Dr. Bullock is a member of The Royal College of Psychiatry and undertook postgraduate psychiatric training including higher specialist training in geriatric psychiatry which concluded in 1993.

Specialty Tutor in Old Age Psychiatry for Wessex and Associate Professor for St George's University Teaching Hospital, Grenada. He also has affiliations with Southampton, Bath and Oxford universities.

K.N. Roy Chengappa MD – SAB and collaborator

Dr. K.N. Roy Chengappa has been associated with The Cognition Group, specifically using Cogtest in his investigator initiated studies for a number of years in studies of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

He is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pennsylvania. A peer reviewer for many scientific journals, he is on the Editorial Board of Clinical Therapeutics and is a Co-Editor of Bipolar Disorders.

Dr. Chengappa is also Chief, Services for Research and Recovery in Serious Mental Illness, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic - University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. During the past 20 years, Dr Chengappa has received several grants from the NIMH, NIDA, pharmaceutical industry and non-profit foundations for clinical studies to develop newer treatments for schizophrenia and bipolar disorders. His recent research has focused on smoking cessation and impaired cognition in persons with schizophrenia or bipolar disorders.

Jeffrey Cummings, MD – SAB

Dr. Cummings accepted the invitation to join our SAB earlier this year in order to help TCG strategically develop their focus and expertise in supporting companies developing AD compounds. Dr. Cummings is the Director and Founder of the UCLA Alzheimer's Disease Center; the Augustus S. Rose Professor of Neurology at UCLA; and the Director of the UCLA Behavioral Neuroscience and Dementia Research Fellowship.

Dr. Cummings' interests involve the development of new treatments for neurodegenerative disorders and other neurological diseases. He has authored or edited 20 books and over 450 peer reviewed papers. Dr. Cummings has broad interests in dementia disorders, neuropsychiatry, neurotherapeutics and the interface of neuroscience and society.

Dr. Cummings is a member of several advisory boards and committees, and serves on the National Board of Directors for the Alzheimer's Association, as President of the Alzheimer's Association Chapter of Los Angeles, and as Vice Chair of the International Scientific Advisory Board for the John Douglas French Foundation for Alzheimer's Research.

Scott Kollins, MD – SAB

TCG invited Dr. Kollins to join the SAB in order to develop scientific-based activities in the area of ADHD. While TCG is gathering experience and data in cognition in many areas; we are well set to expand our experience in ADHD. Dr. Kollins will be part of the advisory selecting the battery for the study.

Dr. Kollins is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Duke Medical Center and the Director of the ADHD Program. He received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Duke in 1992 and earned his Master's and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University. Scott completed his clinical internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center before serving on the faculty of the Department of Psychology at Western Michigan University for three years. He joined the Duke faculty in 2000. Scott is also a licensed clinical psychologist and maintains a practice through the ADHD Program's outpatient clinic. Scott's research interests are in the areas of psychopharmacology and the intersection of ADHD and substance abuse. He has published widely and currently receives funding from NIMH, NIDA, EPA, NINDS, NIEHS, as well as from several industry sources.

Martha Sajatovic, MD – SAB and Expert Trainer

Dr. Sajatovic has collaborated with TCG for the past 3 years, particularly in the area of Rater Training: overseeing learning content and Gold Standard Scoring for Protocols (e.g., in a current program on Major Depressive Disorder, she has overseen all learning materials and Gold Standard Scoring).

Dr. Sajatovic is Professor of Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University and has served as consultant to a number of pharmaceutical companies on various rating scales. Dr. Sajatovic has trained investigators in Schizophrenia/Bipolar/Psychotic Major Depression/ Depression studies both in and outside the US. Dr. Sajatovic has conducted extensive training on rating scales. She regularly holds CMEs at various conferences which are highly regarded by the research and clinical community. Dr. Sajatovic is the co-author of "Rating Scales in Mental Health", Lexicomp, 2006 (2nd Ed.) which has now become one of the most frequently used references in the rater training industry.

David Sheehan, MD, MBA – SAB and Expert Trainer

Dr. Sheehan has participated in discussions with TCG in the development of novel technologies to increase signal in clinical trials (the SES). He is available to provide expert training in programs of anxiety disorders and participating in training programs where appropriate.

Dr. Sheehan is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, Professor of Psychology at the University of South Florida College of Arts and Sciences, and Director of Psychiatric Research for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the University of South Florida College of Medicine.

Dr. Sheehan completed his residency training in psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. At Harvard Medical School, he was full-time faculty for 12 years and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. He was the Director of Anxiety Research and Director of the Psychosomatic Medicine Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital. He received his MBA from the University of South Florida. Dr. Sheehan has published widely and has been invited to give over 1600 lectures in 61 counties throughout the world on anxiety and mood disorders, psychopharmacology and biological psychiatry. He has served on the advisory boards of numerous pharmaceutical companies and of non profit foundations.

Luis Ramirez, MD – Expert Trainer

Dr. Ramirez has been expert trainer on 3 protocols with TCG. In this partnership he has trained over 600 raters in more than 12 countries. Included in one of the programs included independent (second opinion) raters; trained separately by Dr. Ramirez.

Dr. Ramirez is Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University, President of Quality Outcomes Training, and a research psychiatrist with North Coast Clinical Trials in Cleveland, Ohio He has led rater training programs in multinational clinical trials for the past fifteen years, and is one of our most effective leaders and trainers to multinational cohorts. Dr. Ramirez is the co-author of "Rating Scales in Mental Health", Lexicomp, 2006 (2nd Ed.) which has now become one of the most frequently used references in the rater training industry.

Hubert H. Fernandez, MD, FAAN – Expert Trainer

Dr. Fernandez has worked with TCG as expert trainer on a PD Program which included 24 countries. He is recognized as an authority on Parkinson's disease and movement disorders as well as in clinical trials. He has initiated and participated in numerous single-center and multi-center trials for the delay and symptomatic treatment of Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease and dystonia.

Dr. Fernandez completed his residency at Boston University. He completed his fellowship training in Movement Disorders at Brown University where he later served as Associate Director of the Movement Disorders Program, Director of the Parkinson Day Program and Neurological Director of the Functional Neurosurgical Program for Movement Disorders, before moving to the University of Florida. He is an active member of the Parkinson Study Group and the Huntington Study Group.

Ramon Rodriquez, MD – Expert Trainer

Dr. Rodriquez has worked with TCG as expert trainer on a PD Program which included 24 countries.

He is also an Assistant Professor at the Department of Neurology and is Board Certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Dr. Rodriquez completed his B.S. in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine in San Juan, PR. After this he went on to complete an Internal Medicine Internship and Neurology Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. It was there that he developed an interest in Parkinson's disease and Movement Disorders and pursued a Fellowship in Movement Disorders and Surgery for Movement Disorders at the University of Florida.
